read stock tune using Quarterhorse

does anyone know how to read a stock tune out of an eec-5 using tunerpro and a quarterhorse?

i've tried everything and the only thing i can pull is the tune on the quarterhose, can't get the tune off the ecu for anything

don't get me wrong the tweecer will get the job done and they do work pretty good, but the abilities of the QH far surpass the capabilities of the tweecer

The new tweecer/caledit thats supposed to be coming out in the near future is supposed to be pretty serious

I have specific write ups for fuel, spark, idle, scaling, etc...

http://www.efidynotuning.com/ford

the problem you'll run into is getting the strategy file to calibrate the vehicle

the cheapest your going to get one for is $600 but that allows you to tune an infinite amount of those vehicles

In all honesty a moates quarterhorse would be a significant improvement over the tweecer

Also worth noting, dfco can cause the wheels to lockup if you have a locker rear end at high speeds Had it happen once coming through the traps, back wheels locked up and the car went sideways at 145+ mph, thank god the driver survived with minimal injuries In any case I always put a 3 second delay ...

The o2s are not going to be accurate at low loads if you have a mechanical overlap causing a false lean condition The best approach I've found is to disable closed loop at the lower rpm and airmass range, just allow closed loop in the upper ranges Also to rid the fuel smell at idle you'll want to fi...

98 Camaro SS

I just recently purchased a 98 camaro ss with the ls1 and 6spd, looking to do some tinkering but I can't seem to find any hardware other than the drewtech mongoose to interface with it, does tunerpro currently support the drewtech devices or is there any future plans to include support?

the 98 mark8 is a cmba0 strategy it will not run on a cdan4 ecu

Use the stock tbird calibration and tune it for the new engine, regardless what you start with IF tuned properly you'll end up with the same calibration so best bet is stick with the stock tune

the throttle body isn't really a tuning factor

since you have the stock injectors your only real tuning variable will be the maf, if your maf is still stock as well then you have a mechanical issue

the eec 4s do not have a flash ram chip so you can not flash a tune to them, the only way to have a tune on an eec 4 is to do so over the j3 port which is how the quarterhorse connects to the ecu

caledit serves the complete tune on all eec 4s, on eec 5s, caledit layers its datalogging so you can't copy a binary over without it being corrupted

if you have an eec 4, email me your caledit tune file and i can convert it over to a binary for you
