When emulating Cheksum is not important.
Did you trace and make sure that the ECU is reading same tables you are changing ?

You will need an XDF file for the ECU u have.
If No XDF ( Definition file ) is available dont bother cz all you see is HEX data only.

make sure you have constant +12v on the ecu after turning off the ignition the 413 ECU has an internal memory the holds adaptation value or also called learning values that the ecu learn with time if you unplug the ecu or disconnect the constant power, the ECU will forget these values and it need 5 ...

402 and 404 are interchangeable
403 and 405 are interchangeable

I have compared the 2 bins and the map you are talking about is easy to find but the changes in the Alfa-N chip are not what is called a vanos tune,
all the table is only -3 degrees.

In simple words DMCL wanted to say : swapping internal eproms between DME 150 151 152 153 will get you working and also swapping the ECU to a DME 170 171 172 173 or even 179 will also work for you. if this also does not make sense to you just send me your bin file and i will create an XDF for you. 8)

I did not try it yet but it is 100% plausable, the diference is that map sensor output has a linear shape but air mass is curved so 1st of all you need to tune the airflow table

goto the download section and download the bin file and the correct xdf for that file.
xdf files are created by professionals in tuning and backward engineering and you cannot do that by yourself.

My friend the maf on 413 ECU is very essential for the vanos to work correctly, so try to get yourself an airbox and reinstall the maf.
