TPS calc

Post by Six_Shooter »

To convert TPS volt to % I would simply multiply 5V by the desired TPS percentage (/100) to solve for new percent, correct?

Something like this:

5xdesired TPS %/100=new TPS percentage.

[edit]
I think I have to make the "5" to a smaller value, due to the usable range being less than 5 and then add an offset to the calulation.
[/edit]

The reason I ask is because the ALDL dash I will be using has only volts as a display, and everthing is defined as % in the xdf.

As a related note is there a way to change the displayed values in TP RT of the ALDL dash/values? I haven't found a way, other than moving over to Scanner Pro.

You need to change the definition to change the displayed values and calculations.

To go from v to %, you need to take the raw ALDL value, divide by 255, then multiply by 100. Or, said differently, multiply the raw ALDL value by 0.3921569.

Cool, thanks. I need to change the values that relate to TPS in a 7747 bin, due to using a Ford TB and TPS. The Ford TPS has a narrower working band than the GM sensors.
