What .bin and ADS for 1987 Pont 6000?

Post by TGPilot »

Hey guys,

Just did a 3.1 VIN V transplant into a 1987 Pont 6000. I am trying to find some information if this particular ECM is editable or should I just go after a VIN V 3.1L Turbo ECM 7730.

The 6000's ECM shows a SVC # of 16198262. On tunercat's site it shows a 7730 ECM with $6D. I was under the impression that the only difference between the 7727 and 7730 ECM was one was a weather pack ECM the other was an under dash mount.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

You're correct about the differences between the 7727 and the 7730. Unfortunately I don't have any further information on your vehicle. It seems strange that your ECM part # doesn't match what TunerCat says it is.

I have gotten a hold of the pin outs for each and will be doing the conversion later this week. It is definitely not a 7730 in there. :(

That p/n is the updated version of the 7730.
Not sure what the updates are but that is the replacement number.
I interchange between one of these and a 730 all the time in my car.
No problems.

edit:
Checked my notes, (1227730 - 16196344 - 16198262) ECMs are the same just later versions.

I found a 7730 to drop in there. I am assuming that the 7730 and .ads should allow the same as the Turbo Grand Prix (8F)?
