XDF and ADS for $5C

Post by Bugnut »

Ok, I'm new to this site.
I've searched all the usual places with no luck, so maybe someone can help.
Here's the info on what I'm doing.
The engine is a fuel injected Type IV 2.0L VW engine. It's been converted to an upright to go in a 1970 Beetle and is stock as far as internals.
Currently on test run stand, not in the car.
It's running a 1227749 GM ecu modified to run low Z injectors.
Currently running (idle) with AMDD code ($5C).
Datastream info A044.ds. (per Moates Aldl doc file).
Other info:
Injectors are stock VW (Bosch) rated at 188 cc/min (18 lb/hr)
Twin Ford F-150 throtlle bodies and TPS.
Throtlle body adapters for GM IAC
Custom intake manifolds.
GM D.I.S. ignition system
GM 7X crank mounted trigger wheel.
Dodge Neon coilpack.
GM narrowband O2 sensor
GM 1bar MAP connnect to throtlle bodies.
GM knock sensor
VW head temp sensor with resistor mod to run within GM coolant temp range.

Now to the matter at heart.
Datalogging the ECU (at idle) with a various softwares are all telling me it's idling at 950 RPM @ 7.5 BTC (as it should) but is pig rich, so it's time to do some tuning. All sensor data looks Ok, but needs to be adjusted to get it "just right".
The problem is I can't find a hac of the code, XDF's or ADS's to get me started.
I could abandon the 7749 and go to an 7165 and run the code for an Aussie 4 cyl (AMXX or AMXY code mask $5D) ,but these are for TBI setups I think.
Let me finish by saying sorry for the long post and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Tkanks,

Bignut, the $5D was only used in PFI mode although it does support TBI.

5C code

Thanks Adrian for the reply.
Yea, after talking with some Aussies on another site and finding a site (Aussie) with 4 cyl bin info,I now see it will do both.
Also, found out that the stock 749 supports up to 4 low z inj. without the mod I made. Oh well, so now it will run 8.
Still working on possible code change to $58 or $59 (overkill for my setup).
The 165 runs saturated, and I need peak and hold.
I found a few post about converting the 165 to P&H but as of yet this is not confrimed.
The saga will continue.
Awaiting parts to finish my ecu test bench, then back to it.
Thanks again,

5C isn't one I've heard of. Perhaps you could switch out to the turbo Sunbird code (which also ran in the 7749) - that's mask $58A? 58A does have TunerPro definition support.
