can I flash using a pass thru and rt 2002 ranger ecu
Hi folks! I have a 2002 2.3dohc from a ranger that is going in a old econoline. I want to change a few things, am I able with the rt version and a pass thru able to read and flash? or is plugging in an external pre-programmed chip still the only option?

I'm very new at this but I have been told that it takes software like PCMflash and a compatible pass thru device to do such. I have a Mongoose Pro for Ford on the way, so I haven't had the opportunity to quite do this myself. All that I have found on YouTube are foreign language videos of someone reading/writing to a different kind of Ford PCM that I have.
Maybe someone with experience can chime in.

TunerPro cannot reflash an eec-v ECU but can be used to program a J3 chip adapter.

if its just one vehicle then a chip is $100 and if you don't already have a jaybird thats +$85. Still cheaper than pcmflash and a 19v flashing device $400+.
LMK I have several chips and jaybirds if needed
