Why do Corvette ECM's before 89 but after 85 also need to use the 160 baud rate definition file?? Makes no sense to me... they are capable of 8192 baud rate also!

I have an 86 Corvette with a 1227165 ECM. The TunerPro site says that my year of ECM should be using the datastream definition for a 160 baud rate. However, I know for a fact that all 86 Corvette's have the 8192 baud rate. Should I instead use the datastream definition for the 89 Corvette? Specifica...
