Can't copy / paste xdf parameter in version 5 ??

Post by merc07 »

Any one else unable to copy / paste a parameter in V5.

The 'Paste xdf parameter from clipboard' is always greyed out, also the insert copy icon does nothing either.

Any ideas?

Same version as you, I updated from an earlier v5 and still have the same problem.

It used to work fine with the older v4

I tried loading an xdf file from here that says for V5 only, but I still get the same problem.

I must ne missing something here.

Nothing works, not even Ctrl 'C' and Ctrl 'V'

I am using WinXP64, just loaded TunerPro onto another PC running WinXP32 and it still doesn't work.

I just want to copy an XDF parameter and past it into the same instance of TunerPro so I can edit the title and offset to make a new parameter.

Can someone send me a definition file that does allow copy / paste of the parameters - I can only think something is wrong with the file...

Cheers

You can just create a new XDF paremeter. XDF, Create new XDF paremeter, follow instructions and fill in information afterwards.

I wonder if you are opening a old xdf from TPV4? Try saving it with new name. Then re-open and try again.

It is an xdf from V4, I tried saving under a different name - no go - same issue.

I can create a new parameter, but it would be alot easier (if it worked) to copy/paste and just change a couple of parts from the copied parameter.

eg, I have 6 inj transient and 6 adv transient parameters, all very similar. Rather than start a new one for each and enter offsets/titles/calculation for the row/colum, I just need to change the title & main offset . :(

Well you got 2 guys that can't reproduce the issue, and I even looked around for an option that could interfere with this because I always like to learn more of TP software. So I am at a loss.

You could email me your XDF and I would see if it works here for you? mark at eagle-mark.com

Have you tried another xdf to see if it's the xdf or TP?

OK, none of my xdf's allow this, even the ones I download from the tuner pro site, it must be something I am doing wrong although I am doing nothing different to the way it worked in V4.

I now tried making a new xdf in v5
add a new table parameter and change the parameter title to 'help'
right click on the parameter 'help' from the parameter tree
right click anywhere in the parameter area and the paste is greyed out ??

or

left click on the parameter 'help'
left click on the insert copy of parameter icon
nothing ????

We have found a few anomilies in TP even on the XDF side when the seperator test fails... if the seprator is not working properly neither will some XDF changes. To help you, and to verify it's not another issue try the seperator test.

When this test works it seems everything works. When this test fails we have found several other wierd unexplainable issues like yours.

Looks like that test is for the TunerProRT which I don't have.

I get the idea though and tried closing an instance of TunerPro, but still no joy.

I have now installed TunerPro5 on a laptop that has never had it on before, tried my simple test with a new XDF and single parameter and it won't work on there either - I have given up.

I will have to go back to version 4 if I can find it as that worked no probelem at all.

Thanks

Didn't realize you were using TunerPro non RT. It works in RT.

Just tried in Non RT and your right, does not work...

Do you mean your test does not work or the copy / paste does not work in the standard version - non RT

I don't think many people use the TunerPro without the RT anymore because it'll do both changing the bin and recording the data. It's ScannerPro and TunerPro combined. Nothing to compare it too! Just right! :D
