ALDL through Pocketlogger cable?

This is a long shot but I thought I'd give it a go. I've got an Evo 1 and have ordered an Ostrich to help do some engine management and tuning. Am playing around a little with TunerPro RT to get a handle on things before I start tinkering with the car. I noticed that it seems to allow ALDL datalogging.

I currently use the Pocketlogger cable for logging to my PDA, but that cable has a diagnostic port socket at one end and a serial port at the other. I was wondering: if I could manage to find a datastream definition file for the early Evos, could I use this cable to connect my computer to the ECU port and user Tunerpro for logging and monitoring?
