Newbie questions

Post by Steve l »

Hi, just signed up after being recommended to look at Tunerpro as a means of tuning ECU software.

I have been given a KWP2000 interface by someone who was disillusioned after "tuning" their car with a DVD off eBay and destroying their ECU in the process :D :D

The software loaded up and read the ECU from my Opel Astra with Siemens X16XEV. Now I have a file I don't know how to open. Will Tunerpro do this? It doesn't appear to want to open the file. I have searched the forum and I'm not sure what I need to do, rename the saved file? Or do I need a piece of software to alter things to be edited with Tunerpro?

Thanks for any advice

What you'll need is a "definition" that tells TunerPro how to read the file you've pulled from the ECU. I'm not personally aware of where to find a definition for the Opel Astra, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist out there. I seem to recall at least some discussion about it, so maybe a good Google (or Bing) search will pull up more info on whether a TunerPro definition (XDF) exists for your vehicle. If you find it, you should have what you need to edit the bin file (the calibration).
