Connection Suddenly Stops

Post by amason556 »

I am new at the datalogging experince, I have a 1989 Camaro RS body with a 1988 IROC heart and soul. I was using the latest v4 of TunerPro, I am trying 5 now, and the Craig Moates ALDU1 With cable1. When I start recieving data from the ECM after about 5 minutes it just stops sending data. The queston is has this happened to anyone else and how do I fix it.
I donot know if v5 does this I updates my laptop while typing this message on a desk top.
Any help will be appreciated.

i believe it has something to do with the fact that it's about the only ECM out there that uses a 10K resistor to trigger the 8192 baud stream.

when power stutters to the ECM(even momentarily), it can kick the 8192 connection out and start streaming the 160 baud instead.

Ok now I am wondering if there is any documentation on the matter of the dropping the signal when the ECM has a momentary power flutter.
Was wandering if putting a capacitor in the power circuit to condition would help? is definatly something to look at before trying.
