EE datalog issues

I have tuned a few other cars with '165 and '730 ecms but this is my first time to try to connect to a LT1 car.

The car is a 95 Camaro with 6 speed.

My laptop is running XP, I have the latest version of TP RT. I downloaded the EE datastream def from TP files

I have the Moates cable with com port set correctly (works fine on my 89 Camaro)

I hit connect and the DA: not connected (yellow box) flashes connecting for a split second and then back to not connected.

Datamaster connects fine,

TunerPro RT V4 connects but only updates data about every 4 seconds or so.

I downloaded the EE datastream def for V5 only from TP downloads
I also downloaded the EE ADS file from Moates file downloads to use in V4

I'm at a stand still.
Any advise?
