beginner needing info thanks

Post by jeremys879011 »

Hi, I am very new to this but have some plans. I have downloaded tunnerpro rt and I have a dodge grand caravan with ECU # P05187 197AA. Can you tell me what the next step is toward being able to tune my engine?

I'm not aware of any definitions being available for your vehicle, which means there won't be much that you can do with the software.

Hi, Mangus thanks for your info on the definitions I was afraid that would be the answer. In that case I am going to get rid of my van and get a 2001 gmc sierra. Can you tell me what the next peice of equipment is that I will need for that truck? Thank you

There's no real definition support for GM OBDII vehicles either. (Yet). =(

Here's a preliminary "basiline" set of definitions for supported vehicles: http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadBinDefs.htm

There are more definitions out there available on the Web, and there are even OBDII GM definitions out there, but the difficulty is in getting the tune to and from the vehicle.
