Problems writing bin file

Post by SPOOLD U »

I have a 29F040B chip from Moates that I am trying to burn a 512k image to. I have stacked 16 32k images on it, to fill it up. I am using the default ranges for chip size and buffer size. Every time I try to write the bin with tunerpro I get an error at about 4000ish during the write and it returns an error - "ERROR: PROM I/O returned failure". I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions on what to check? I have never had issues with 128 or 256 chips before.

anyone have suggestions? I'm stumped. Is there a way I can attach the file for someone else to try?

Looks like you might need to changed the Buffer Addressing End Address to 07FFFF. The default comes up as 007FFF for the 29F040B.

Perhaps try a different USB cable (noise issue), or try running it through a USB hub with an external power adapter (might be a power issue).

Try erasing the chip, then verify that it has been erased. Then do your write.
