TunerPro RT 5 Crashes when Uploading BIN to Emulator

Post by tomgilb »

I'm using TunerPro RT build 5.00.7774.00 with an AutoProm from Moates on a '94 Chevy C1500 with 7427 ECU.

When I attempt to upload the current BIN to the emulator, TunerPro RT crashes. The BIN I have open is a read from a Jet chip and the file size is 32kb. I read the chip using the Moates APU1 unit. I am using the 0D_TPV5_v250.xdf file and the A217_0D_v250.adx definition file, both downloaded from tunerpro.net.

After reading some of the other posts, I figured I needed to change the BIN file size in the XDF header section. Since the BIN file is 32768 bytes on disk, I set the BIN size in the XDF to 8000 (hex). No luck.

I tried to upload the BIN using TunerPro 4, it doesn't crash and the verification is successful; however, I cannot figure out a way to configure the COM port setting in TunerPro to be anything other than COM1 (the AutoProm is COM4) so I am unable to do DataLogging.

Another item worth mentioning...

During my troubleshooting with TunerPro v5, if I do not select an XDF file, I can upload the BIN to the emulator without it crashing and the verification works as well. Then, I select the XDF I want to use and the verification still works as intended. If I try to upload it states successful, but then the verification fails again. Honestly, I think this is bypassing something and not necessarily making it actually work.

Any assistance would be great. I can provide the BIN file and other information as needed.

thanks,

Email me (see signature) the bin file and XDF you're using and I'll take a look.

If you're logging in AutoProm mode, you don't need to select the COM port (TunerPro uses the same COM port as the AutoProm).

Mark, Those files come from that same Zip package we had very strange issue with for the 220_transv250.adx

Tomgilb if you want to try another xdf I have one that I know works in this thread.

I received the bin and XDF, and am unable to reproduce a crash using the latest build of V5 on the website. Are there any special steps that I would need to take?

I started V5 with the AutoProm attached, loaded the bin, loaded the XDF, and hit the upload button (up arrow) on the toolbar.
