... no I hadn't (but now I have). Apologies if that was in the Help information...

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for scalar values.

You have certainly implemented a lot of resizing. And to add another layer probably does seem like redundancy, but that does not detract from the validity of the user requirement to be able to see the row and column labels irrespective of the section of the table being viewed. This is why I called t...

Freeze panes

Not sure if this has been suggested already, but I think that it would be really helpful if the table row and column labels did not scroll out of view. (See Winbin for what I mean) When working in a reduced window (e.g. to compare values with another program - e.g. Excel), it is only possible to see...

Conversion between hex and engineering units

Am I right in thinking that v2.01 automatically updates tables in edit mode with the display option that you select via preferences (whereas v2.0 did not)? Anyhoo, I was editing an ignition advance table in engineering units, and wanted to view it in hex. I went into preferences, selected hex, and t...

Ah, I seem to be able to save the values, when they are displayed in engineering units, but not when they are displayed in Hex. Is this intended? If so, it would be useful to be able to edit the hex... :-) BTW: When doing a search for GMECMEDIT, I just get your site with v1.01 on. (http://www.geocit...

Tried again this morning. This time I couldn't get any value to change. I just load up the main SA table, edit a cell value, click out of the cell, click save, the edit window disappears, and when I reload it the values are back to how they were! Do you have access to a machine running NT? I'd reall...

I need to experiment some more, as I haven't done enough to observe a clear pattern of behaviour.

Will report back soon...

I'm running Windows NT (at home and work).

I've just tried it again, and firstly I managed to change a value, then back again. I wondered if it was just the first column that I could change. Then I went back and couldn't change the first column.

Weird. Is is supposed to work under NT?

Editing tables

I can't believe that this is a bug, but here goes anyway: Today I tried to edit and save cell values in a table. I edited them ok, then hit save. The edit window disappeared. When I re-entered the edit table, the values were back to how they were before I changed them. Am I doing something wrong? Th...

In a similar vein to the interpolation function, I think that it would be useful if a 2-D area of a table (highlighted by the user) could have a smoothing function applied to it - to take out any spikes, and provide a smooth surface for ignition or injection values to transition over. I see this as ...

I'm imagining something where you drag the cursor over a row or column of cells in a table, and they're highlighted. The software then fills in the middle values based on interpolation. Is this what you meant by the dialogue?

You work out the straight line (or other function) to interpolate between the points, calculate the precise value at each cell position, round to the nearest quantised value, and store that.

Re: Hex editor features

That's good.

BTW: If you need any input on interpolation algorithms, give me a shout.

Surfaces

I know that you know about this, but, for the record, it would be really nice to be able to see the tables as surfaces, a-la Winbin.

Hex editor features

It would be nice if the program allowed block fill with constants, like hex editors provide (to avoid having to use a hex editor as well). It would also be nice if the program provided an interpolation function between values in an array or table - so that the end points could be defined and ...
