Stupid Noob Question

Post by Sensei »

I am an old carb guy just now moving into the TBI age. I have a '93 Suburban and I just rebuilt the throttle body and am looking to get everything running right, then start modifying/ tuning.

I connected my laptop to the truck and am getting data, but am not sure what everything means. i.e. Integrator, Block Learn Multiplier etc. Is there someplace where all these parameters are defined?

Also, WBO2 stays at 10 (driving around, it hopped up for an instant once or twice). I am also getting a red reading for Knock Retard.

I have the GM Service Manual and have ordered the GM Fuel Emissions Manual. I am mechanically inclined and any help is appreciated.

God bless, Sensei

The manuals will help diagnose each circut but won't be much help tuning or learning data.

We started an EFI dictionary to help with these terms:
http://www.gearhead-efi.com/gm-ecm-pcm- ... onary.html

More reading more better, there is a learning curve but it's not hard and even easier for a guy who knows engines and mechanics.

BLM in a perfect world should be 128 in closed loop, it is a reading off the O2 sensor the ECM makes adjustments with. Lower than 128 is rich and higher is lean.

The WBO2 reading will not work unless you have installed a WB O2 sensor.

HTH! God Bless you too!
