Multiple Datastream Definition Files for Same Vehicle/eng

Post by Biglar »

Got TunerPro up and operating on my 95 Chev G30 454 motorhome but confused about the datastream definition files (.adx), like what is the difference between A218_OD_TRANS1_V250.ADX and A218_OD_TRANS2_V250.ADX? If there is a real difference should be mentioned somewhere.

The author of those files decided to make a seperate file for each data stream. The 2 you mention are for transmission, the second one is more then ever needed but he did a complete and thorough job of the files.

Also with a 95 454 auto you may not have the right files? You need to look at the PCM in the motorhome and see what it is. If motorhome has Turbo 400 this is wrong file, this file is for an 4L80e trans.

I'm using the _TRANS1- file and TunerPro apears to work just fine. Just for info, I was unable to download the _TRANS2_ definition file to begin with, got an windows error message that unable to locate.

I did a physical check prior to using TunerPro and I do have an 4L80e trans.

There was an issue with some corrupt files here but thought that was fixed? Anyway all the files you need can be found here and known good:
http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inject ... Tuner-Info!

You may want to look at your PCM and get the number and BCC (four letter chip code) and see what you really have. Better yet pull the 2 screws on top and read the BCC right off the chip/Memcal, sometimes they are changed.

Then check it here:

You do have a 16197427 PCM right?

Also for engine data is a differant file called Advanced $0D TP5 v250.xdf‎ the 2 you are mentioning are for trans data although some engine data is in there too, but not near as complete.
