Introduction: my name is shawn prince..... I am putting a chevy 350 inside of a mazda miata to drift with. I know its not a 4x4 but still, 330-400 horsepower in a 2300lb car, yeah, will be tons of fun.
The engine is a crate 350 with 285 flywheel hp...... Eventually ill toss a cam in it and possibly vortec heads later down the road to rack up that 400 wheel hp.
At first the engine was carb'd.... I have never dealt with carbs or distributors before so everything went haywire.... Cause the engine on fire, almost caught the house on fire, and burnt the DANG! outta my arm.

Yeah, thats me. So i said the hell with this, grabbed something im a little more familiar with.... Fuel injection!!! Got it for a steal. 125 for everything, harness, sensors, dizzy, computer, you name it.
I finally got everything wired up last night.... The check engine light gave me 3 codes, all for the transmission.... So nothing to really worry about.
i installed everything and am ready to rework the harness. I have been doing TONS of research and came across pinouts of everything.
The thing is, i know absolutely nothing about tbi, gm chips, tuning, tuner pro... Nothing.....
Yeah i understand how it all works together but actually hooking up to a computer, i know next to nothing. ALTHOUGH i am computer savvy. So when i start messing around with it, i will catch on VERY fast. I learn really quick and am very good with hands on instead of books.
Hands on with tuning, yeah bad idea, but hey, you gotta start somewhere, right??
So my question is, where do i begin? I am only at the pcm having power stage.
I do not have any equipment to hookup to this chip, no software, no nothing.
Can someone lead me to get my foot in the door?
I also heard about making a cable to hookup to it instead of purchasing it? If thats the case then im down to give it a go. I do wiring at work all day everyday so it shouldnt be anything new.
