I put a better and new engine in my truck. I went from a 305 to a 350. I put in heads with stainless swirl vales, bigger then stock, and a roller cam.
I paid for a better chip from summit and though the chip will let the truck run, it is very hard starting, and bucks on hills when in top gear (4 and clutch lock). and at stop lights on a cold day (40 or below) touch the gas and truck dies. I bought the tuner pro program, the burner 2 chip reader, and all cables, but don't know what to do or where to start. I am getting close to scrapping this truck and buy a new one.
