GM 4.3 TBI on a Land Cruiser

Post by tigerstripe40 »

I am working on retrofitting GM TBI onto my Toyota Land Cruiser with 4.2liter inline 6 motor.

Most commonly, 88 -93 GM 4.3 TBI injection from an AstroVan or S10 pickup is used for these application.

I pulled the wiring harness and ECU from a 1989 GMC S15 pickup and need to know how to determine what base BIN file I need.

The S10/S15 had a 4.3 TBI injected motor with 700r4 transmission.

I am trying to figure out what ECU etc I have.
The numberI got off the ECU is 16089571 though the swap I've found say to use a 17112043 not sure what the difference is here?

Also, I don't know what base bin I need to use.
The 'chip' has AMRW 9600 on it.

The wiring harness is currently in pieces and I have not started the installation of GM Components, so I don't really have a way to power up the ECU currently (well, I could connect it to 12v power and then splice the ALDL back togehter and read it).

I also pulled the 'chip' out of the plastic holder and tried reading it with a Moates APU1 AutoProm but I am not sure if it was read properly.

A bit of help/direction is requested.

Also, I went to code59.org and tried registering (twice, now) and have gotten the same database error and I have not received any registration email. :S
