DA connected message but no data on screen

Total noob to TunerPro, fresh install of RT under windows 7. Using a usb serial cable from aldl cables. device manager sees it as com4, data acquisition window in tunerpro rt sees it as com4 and the test function says cable found. But when I connect it to the truck I can get the green "DA Connected" but no data on screen after hitting start acquisition.

Vehicle is 1995 Chevy G30 1 ton van with TBI 350 and 4l80e. I loaded A219_0e_31_v250.adx as the adx file, one thing though, at the top of the tunerpro application the name of the file ends with adx.txt, is this an error ? what else could this problem be ? I know the ALDL interface is working because I have a TECH2 scanner that shows me all the live data.
