Need a datastream file

Hooked up my Ostrich this afternoon.
Green lights Emulation ok, connected to Ostrich, ALDL connected.
Turn on car, runs real bad..wont idle running really rich.
I don't have a datastream file for the 1990 5.0
Up loaded bin, verified bi, everything ok
I am using A9L as the bin
GUFC as tthe xdf
Plugged the Ostrich in the J3 port with the chips on top of the adapter
Jumper has been changed in the Ostrich for 32 pin

Like I said, I don't have a Datastream file
Does it make a difference in the way the car would run?
Something is wrong with what I am doing and I don't know what it is.

Somethings to try out;

Is the J3 connector thoroughly clean?
Is the bin from a known good source?
Is the bin uploaded to the Ostrich with the right offset?
You need to use the GUFB xdf with the A9L bin.
There is no datastream on Ford ecu's.

For eec-iv ecu's you need to upload a 64k bin file to the emulator for the memory addressing to be right. If you are using a 56k bin file you will need to increase the size of it to 64k by padding the first 8192 bytes will null data. You can use a hex editor to do this, HDD Software's HexEditor v2.0 is good for this with an 'insert' function.

Is there someplace I can go to to learn how to edit a bin?
I have no clue on how to do this.
Obviuosly this is the reason for my problem, and you have been a very big help.
I love this learning curve!

This sounds like the xdf rather than the bin.

What was your original ecu? I might have a stock bin for it.

I am using A9L as the Bin
The XDF is GUFB

Padded bin sent via e-mail. For some reason I got it into my head that the original ecu was an auto but the replacement ecu you got was the A9L, I was going to send the original ecu's bin if I had it

It WAS and automatic until I fried the ECM
Screwed that thing up, tried to attach the Ostrich when the car was running.

No, other than picking the right xdf to match the bin file, look under the xdf header (cntrl + F2) to see what ecu's are covered by the xdf.
