This software is completely new to me. Help is requested, Thank you.
Have the TunerPro rt with OBD Diagnostics cable GM OBD 1, have tried all four positions
on the ALDL cable with the jumper. Bottom of the window shows AD connecting, then changes back to Not Connected.
have done a cable test through TunerPro and it states cable is found and functional.
XDF files and ADX files are loaded and showing at the top of the window.
When I moved the jumper to the 10k resistor mil light flashes, but still no connection to ECU.
Wiring to and from ALDL to ECU have been tested and appear to check out. I have checked all the wiring that I can and it
checks Ok, voltages, ground and continuity test. Have even checked the above when plugged in. Have found in the past wires that
checked Ok, voltage, ground, but when plugged in, or connected in circuit show no voltage or open ground. Not the case with this car.
This part is thrown in, because it is odd.
Using an old school Snap-on scanner does have an effect on ECU. When I request a function test or try to see data
the idle will change as long as the scanner is in that mode, even though the scanner shows no connection on screen..
Any test I request or Data screen asked for as soon as you press the Y (yes) button, engine idle goes up approx. 200 RPM.
The one Field test as is it is called affects IAC and fans which it does, i.e. RPMs increase and fans will turn on.
But it still will shows no connection or data.
Have been told the ECU's in these years are bit twitchy.
Maybe someone has run across this before.
Car is an 88 Camaro IROC 5.7L / Auto, 1227165 (factory auth reman unit Delco Electronics)
At a loss looking for help Thanks
1227165 Ecu will not connect
