29C256 Chip- Reading & Writting

Post by Irocing »

Trying to read and write to a 29C256 I had programmed for me.
87 Iroc 165 ECM- Moates APU1 complete setup.
Tuner Pro RT program.
Chip runs great in the car, just want to make small changes.

When trying to read chip all I get is alot of garbage info-FFFFFF ect. ect.
Chip is showing 32K.
The 2 bins that come with TP RT, ARAP(Corvette bin I think) and another
one read correctly.

Running 6E XFD and tryed 32 & 32B No Luck.
What do I need to do :?:
APU1 set up correctly and Data Logging ect. work great!!
Just this problem.

Thanks :)

chip offset: 4000 to 7ffff
buffer offset: 0 to 3FFF

chip type, 29C256

Don't overwrite your chip accidentally!

Mangus,

Thanks, will try that :D

Thought possibly there was some encoded lock on the chip so you
couldn't read or write to it, if thats possible?

I paid to have it programed as a starter chip for my setup as I get up to
speed on this venture.

Would have been highly piiiii :x if had been the case.

Mangus, what would be the offset on a 27SF512 be if that occured?
I also made a couple copys of chip on 2 PCs just in case of Pilot error.

Thanks again, will post back if problems

Thanks Mangus,

Finnally got to read the chip.
Total timing on the hot side and temps and idle off.

Made changes and saved but getting errors on programming new chip :(
Will read up on that link you posted and figure out how to double stack
if read correctly.
