editing a .xdf in excel or other program

I do like using TunerPro, but my biggest gripe is trying to edit, sort, or organize definitions within TunerPro. Has anyone had any success using an alternate program like excel, to import and export the definitions for editing ? Also, is there a way to sort constants, tables, functions and flags based off of address ?

I've got an Excel importer about 15% done, but just haven't gotten back to it. Maybe down the line...

For ADX you can open the file in notepad, I use EditPad, cut, copy paste to new location. Just like doing HTML code...

Do not use Word or open office type letter writing program as it adds in all sorts of nasty stuff...

Also double click the value or item list or whatever and drag it to new spot.

You can always build your own Item list the way you want by placing items in order, or delete an item, or add new item inbetween items.

That was for ADX above.

For XDF you can do this in TunerPro. With your XDF open in TP go to XDF, View/Edit XDF header info. Look for Tabs along the bottom and click on Categories. Add as many as you want for separate items like Engine, Trans, Scalers etc...

Then right click on a parameter, Edit Parameter XDF info and a box will open and you can put it in Categories A, B or C or just one!

Then in Parameter Tree it is usually parameter tree, choose parameter categories and the category folders you made will show there with their contents.

This way you can separate whatever you want/use in your XDF to a categories

Thanks for the reply , I actually have created quite a few templates, the problem is, it is a pita to try and keep consistency and order between multiple xdf's. With a spread sheet, you can keep the naming conventions, and format the same between multiple definitions, and just have different rom addressing as needed.
