Real time and 94-95 PCM ?

Post by mnilss44 »

Hi
Can someone explain why it is so difficult to get real time emulation on the 94-95 PCM , I mean real time works great on the previous ECU´s and TP can handle the Bins allready.I know it uses 2 external flash memorys one for the E-side and one for the T-side , have somebody tried to desolder one of those and hook up a emulator instead , or is there more difficultys to it.Does anyone have some info on this?

regards
Regards
Mike.

Tbi or tpi??
I have the 6395 tbi 94 and its 1 eprom for engine and trans(512).
When you desolder it its easy to destroy the chipholder.
Im emulating with rt and its working (som problem with connection
with some pins when i run real time its when i turn off the engine).
moates have a adaper for it dident see it when i got the ostrich.

TPI , and this PCM got 2*512 flash chip with plcc footprints. One major issue is that it will need 2 emulators working together or a clever 1024 emulator with 2 ribbon cables and some hardware config to control each side separately hooked up to TP.I think most guys feel that 3-4min to reflash the PCM is okay so they just do it offline instead. But I really think that real time tunning is way superior. Maybe there will be some spin-off effect from the OBDII PCM´s sometime soon.
