TunerPro 5.0 and Windows 7 problems

Post by utilityguy2 »

I have a problem with TunerPro 5 not responding after being idle for about 10 to 15 minutes. This is particularly a problem if I leave the Moates PROM read/write utility open. When I go to use it after the time frame stated above, it gives various errors such as communication or not reading errors. I close the utility and all appears OK but nothing working. I close TunerPro and all appears OK but cannot restart it as it says already running. Try to close in windows task manager and will not stop or shutdown. Must re-boot. Have had this happen on XP machines as well but not as often. Is there any fix for this? Has anyone else have this happen? Great program otherwise but can't see paying for it until works it as supposed to.

I've left mine on for days on my Windows XP desktop and never had that issue. Also left it on all day on Windows 7 laptop and even after power saver shuts laptop and I start it again it still works fine?

Ususally have USB AutoProm hooked to latop and USB chip burner hooked to desktop... only thing I can think of is if your connecting or disconecting parefreials during the time mentioned? I know my com port changes from USB port to USB port when I use other things. HTH!

Thanks for that info. It probably is a usb issue. the bigger issue is not being able to completely shut down tunerpro when it is in that state. I can work around that issue also. Thanks again.
