Can you datalog and Emulate in TunerPro at the same time?

Post by Zavzty547 »

Newbie question...
I did a search but the answer wasn't clear..

I'm not sure if it's my com port configuration but I can't run the Ostrich and datalog in TunerPro at the same time (seems to conflict-blue screen pops up). I can only run one or the other. Is this normal?

I tried to change my comports so each adl would see a different comport but it didn't seem to make a difference.

Yep, you can use the Ostrich ( or other emulator ) and datalog at the same time, or rather should be able to do this. ;)

What ALDL cable are you using?

Can you use one or the other (one at a time)?

Can the Ostrich be plugged into the ECM, with a bin uploaded to it, and not emulating?

What I might try in a case like yours to see if it's a possible software conflict within TP RT, is to download another datalogging program, and run TP RT and the new datalogging program to see if it runs that way. If it still crashes, then I would look at computer settings. I can't think of any off hand that would cause what you are saying though.

I figured it was user error.
I have a old school Dell Latitude pentium III which has 1 usb port, so I bought a BusPort from Moates (which has 2 usb ports). Hooked the Ostrich to 1 port and the dataloger to the BusPort, installed the drivers and they won't sync up together (only finds hardware to 1 device), no matter how I setup the comports.
The help topics in Tuner pro only shows configuration for 1 device comport (com4) Is their a com port diagram for 2 devices?

I'm using the Belkin adapter to datalog and it seems to work fine when hooked up to 1 device.

Does the Ostrich and the Tunerpro dataloger use the same port # since their sharing the same software or should they be configured to a different port #?

Thanks
Zav

I'll see if I can set up my Ostrich and Extreme ALDL, to see what Com ports are being used. My tuning laptop died, so I will need to use my old single USB port laptop and a USB hub. I can probably also plug them into my desktop and compare settings.
