TPRT Emulation

Post by nrthrly »

:? OK, so I haven't done much to my beast in a while, and forgot what I had learned! I reinstalled WIN2000, TPRT, Datamaster, etc. but I cannot emulate. Autoprom recognized, can datalog, any bin that I upload and verify will not let truck run. Seems like limphome mode. Sending AA to 08 and 4008, nothing. Tried setting to COM 1, 3, 2, 4 in TP and laptop nothing . Line tested ribbon cable, nothing. Any other thought? Thanks as always!

Are you getting data on the ALDL when this happens?

What ECM/program are you using?

Emu cable plugged in the correct way?

Emulation button turned on?

In TP Preferences/aldl/emulation I have checked send checksum, AP interface, COM 3, 10Hz.
On Autoprom both rear dips tried all ways.
One thing I cant remember and cannot find answer to; ribbon header pin 1 set away or to edge of G# adapter???
Mark? Thanks [/img]

Towards the edge, away from the switch.

How do you have the G3 set-up? The jumpers set for "passthrough"?

Notice the chip is away from the nocth, does ribbon header do the same?
Thanks

If you're asking about the placement of the EPROM in the dip socket, being that the EPROM is in the "lower" 28 pins then, yes the EMU cable will need to be installed the same way.

This is the way I thought it was supposed to go:

Because when I tried it like this:
http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo21 ... /right.jpg
and keyed on, the fuel pump relay rattled and fried. Then the pump would run continuously till crank then startup with a large carbon footprint! :?

You're showing the same position in both of those pictures.

There should be 4 exposed socket pins to the left with the G3 in the same position it is in the pictures.
