I have a 1986 Pontiac Trans Am engine stuffed in a 1987 RX-7 with a T-5 manual transmission. It runs fine. I have been driving it a few days each year since I built it in 2000.
A Snap-On MT2500 scanner works with it.
WinALDL works with it.
I tried DataMaster, but can't get that to work. DataMaster tech support is non-existent (I've been trying to reach the programmer for almost 2 months).
I'm interested in trying TunerPro, but if you guys know it won't work you could save me some time.
I'm not sure if it is 160 baud only or both 160 and some other speed. WinALDL's only options are 2400 and 4800, but it works either way.
Here is some info someone sent me based on the ECM number and PROM number I sent him......
>>>BCC year is 1986
>>>
>>> BCC= AUM 3236 Scan id= 8291 Part number= 01228291
>>> Release date= 09/17/86 Engine size= 5.0 Trans Type= Auto trans
>>> ECM/PCM: ECM #01227165
>>> Used in cars: Chevy Pontiac
>>> Possibly used in:
>>> CAMARO SPORT COUPE CAMARO BERLINETTA FIREBIRD
>>> FIREBIRD TRANS AM FIREBIRD SE
>>>
>>> Options:
>>> With C60 AIR CONDITIONER, FRONT, MANUAL CONTROLS
>>> With LB9 5.0L GAS 8 CYL MFI HO
>>> With NA5 FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS
>>> With NB2 CALIFORNIA REQUIREMENTS
Does anyone know if I should try TunerPro, or know if it won't work?
Thanks.
Will TunerPro work with my car (newbie help needed)

I purchased a cable in 2001 here http://www.akmcables.com/
It has the 10K resistor built into it. I confirmed this recently both with a Fluke 88 (9.90K ohms), and visually by opening it (I have photos).
The resistor is soldered into the cable's printed circuit board.
