Exhaust gas temp sensor how do I log it in TP5

Post by maticulus »

I've found that wideband AFR readings are not always accurate relative to how my car feels and the value displayed and would like to include exhaust temps in my history table since no matter what the AFR value is the exhaust temps will always be consistent with what the engine is actually experiencing.

I use the Moates Autoprom and Zeitronix wideband datalogger and have a wideband feed in the datalog already that was setup by robertissar, but the wideband patches are not labled specifically so I have no idea which one is selected to represent the Zeitronix module. My AFR reading on the Zeitronix display is about 1 point higher than what is registering in TP5 at idle but is pretty close it appears off throttle.

There is a little crack in the exhaust between the sensors. The narrow band sensor is downstream of the crack, the wideband is within a foot of the turbine housing. I'm not sure if the ecm is using the wideband signal or the narrowband for fuel management or if the crack is responsible for the AFR reading discrepancy.

On the code59 forum the the 1 point AFR offset is addressed as being a problem with the incorrect sensor or two wideband sensors being selected in the code. Initially the AFR was pretty accurate between the displays before the current problem and I don't recall fiddling with the associated parameters.

Do a search on here under my name for "Scaling Moates I/O"
There is a good description on using the 10 bit inputs that are extra on the AutoProm if you have the "Adpac" unit.
