Blazer help.

Post by Donald »

Well hello everyone. New to the forum I joined because i have and old blazer 1989 full size 5.7l tbi engine. Believe me when i say I have ran the whole circle trying to find a miss in this engine. I bought the obd1 cable and have finally got the software talking, no easy event if i must say. well i need some help on my next steps, I did see sensor data under the ALDL sensor tab but if what i saw was correct i have major problems. The temp sensor, throttle position, and engine rpm never read right, all over the place. I'm not real sure if i have to select anything to pick this engine application in the software if someone would do a little hand holding I would really appreciate the help. Thanks Donald..

Blazer troubles

Yes you definitely need the correct files to be sure the sensor values are aligned. I had the same issues when I initially joined the TunerPro community. Once I loaded the proper BIN and other interface files the data agreed with my gauges and other readings. ( ignition timing etc). Took some time to build confidence that all the software loaded was exactly what it should be. Good Luck. :D

It's good to have proper bin and xdf loaded to go along with your data acquisition but no necessary. You can data log with just the adx file. I have worked on the $42 adx and xdf quite a bit, so if you have proper bin and xdf you can also Data Trace (see what cell in bin is working with data) by clicking the data trace button while connected to vehicle or later if you click record and save the data file.

Here's a link to the $42 advanced files, get both xdf and adx as they work together with Data Tracing
