Newbie Help Needed

Hey guys,

So I'm new to using TunerPro and could use some assistance. I've tried searching already but still don't have a definitive answer so I'm reaching out.

Here is the situation...I'm currently using a canned BIN from my tuner to flash my car. To be honest, I'd like to modify a copy of my original BIN with the values from the defined tables in the XDF files from my tuner. Is there an easier way to transfer the table values from my tuner's canned BIN to the tables on my original bin without going through each table and "copying and pasting" when using the compare BIN feature? There is a lot of tables to go through and the likelihood of a mistake being made is greater and I'm trying to avoid that and future headaches.

Load the target bin (that you'd like to change) as you normally would (file menu, or drag and drop). Open the source bin (with the tables you want) as a compare bin (compare menu). Do a difference search (Ctrl + T). Highlight everything that you want from the source and use the button to copy them to the target.

And for what it's worth, don't be bashful about asking what you think are silly questions. They're almost certainly not silly, and even if others believe that they are, 1) screw them, and B) there's very likely other people who have the same question.

So I'll ask my question here:

First, I appreciate the advice on transferring the values from my tuner's canned BIN to my original BIN using the difference tool! So much faster than using the compare feature and copying and pasting the values from table to table available on the xdf files provided from my tuner.

Got one question for you or anyone else that can help...in the difference tool under starting address the value is "0000" and end is "FFFFF." Will the end values of "FFFFF" give me ALL AVAILABLE tables or would "ZZZZZ" do best? I notice that when comparing values using the difference tool, not all the tables are available when comparing vs using just the compare tool. So how do I get ALL tables both undefined and defined to show using the difference tool?

In a nutshell...is the hex limited to a certain number of numerical and alphanumerical values or is it a constant of 5? Where technically the end value of "FFFFF" corresponds to the last hex value allowable.

Thanks. Read that whitepaper mentioned above.

Those boxes will automatically be set to represent the entire range of the bin, so if you don't change them, you'll get the differences across the entire range (tables, constants, and even code if there are differences in the code). Use it carefully.
