Hypertech max energy Model# 32501

I have searched and found a forum that suggested that this model 32501 has a SD card slot with a SD card in it with the vin and information that would let me remove the Vin that is stored on the SD card. I opened the programmer and yes there is a SD card in the programmer, I removed it and tried to read it with a SD card reader and the only thing it asked me when i opened the file on the SD card was to reformat it, I fired up the programmer without the SD card and all it did was display the "start up window" i placed the SD card back in the programmer and it fired up and showed that it was programmed to vin. The forum i read this on during my search for answer to try to un-vin lock this programmer. was back in 2019, My question to the forum is Am I able to wipe the SD card clean and place it back into the programmer, and be able to update the programmer (tuner) with new software and be able to work on my vehicle. I have searched and now I am here for some excellent advise on this tuner.
